Frequently asked questions
General
A: Sauna Next The Sea is located just 200 feet from the water’s edge at the end of the fishing quarter along East Quay. While there are no public toilet facilities directly on site, the nearest public toilets can be found near the two main car parks — the Harbour Carpark and Freeman Street carpark. We recommend planning accordingly to ensure your visit is comfortable and enjoyable.
A: Sauna Next The Sea does not offer a hot shower facility; however, we provide a refreshing cold water shower for your hot/cold therapy needs. Embracing the invigorating contrast of hot sauna heat followed by a brisk cold shower is a traditional wellness ritual that enhances circulation, boosts energy, and deeply rejuvenates the body. Our cold shower, in a repurposed old boat by the sea, perfectly complements your sauna experience, helping you relax and revitalize.
A: The sauna is strictly reserved for guests aged 17 and over. For health and safety reasons, children under 17 are not permitted inside the sauna or on the sauna site. Since we are located right on the water's edge, these restrictions help ensure a safe and relaxing environment for all adult guests. This policy supports our commitment to providing a peaceful and rejuvenating experience by the sea.
A: Dogs are not allowed on the site. Due to our location, right on the water’s edge, it is not safe to leave dogs unattended. Additionally, to maintain a peaceful and relaxing environment for all guests, we must ensure minimal distractions and noise. We appreciate your understanding as we strive to provide a relaxing experience.
A: At Sauna Next The Sea, we strongly recommend bringing your own water bottle to stay well hydrated during your sauna experience. Since we are located right on the water’s edge, we do not have a mains water supply available on-site.
While our neighbors at Flo & Joe do not offer drinking tap water, you can purchase cans of mineral water, coffee, soft drinks, and snacks from them. Staying hydrated is essential to fully enjoy our relaxing and rejuvenating sea-side sauna retreat!
A: To ensure the best experience at Sauna Next The Sea, please arrive 10 minutes before your scheduled session. This early arrival allows time for a brief with your host, who will guide you through the process and answer any questions. Arriving on time helps us maintain our smooth schedule and provides each guest with a full, uninterrupted 50-minute sauna session. If you arrive late, your session will be shortened out of consideration for the next guest, as the remaining time is needed for your host to refresh and prepare the sauna. Arriving promptly ensures you can fully relax and rejuvenate in our serene sea-side setting!
